Since its announcement
back in February, we didn’t hear a thing about the HTC desire 610. The
affordable handset of HTC brought a lot of promise, but that’s irrelevant as
long as we can’t get the phone itself.
Now, on July 25th,
AT&T will launch the product for $200 off-contract, meaning you don’t need
to sign some over-blown contract that’ll break your freedom and force you to
stay with AT&T, even if somewhere down the next two years you’ll regret
your decision.
Although the phone is locked for AT&T
only, you still aren’t obliged to any specific contract while purchasing it. Of
course, the price fits the package, and don’t expect to find some
flagship-material hidden in your $200 phone.
What you get is a
960x540, 4.7’ display, housing a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor and a 2040mAh
battery. You also get an 8MP shooter and 1GB of RAM. The phone is designed
similarly to the HTC One M8, although it’s made of plastic.
If you’d like to
order the phone online, you can order it in the future (now you can just sign up for email notifications) from here.
