Carlos Slim might bid against Sprint for T-Mobile

Just when it seemed the Sprint-T Mobile merger is finally about to be finalized, and it was just in the last stages of finalization, it now seems that a new player is about to try to change the picture.

That player is Carlos Slim, the man who might be the richest person in the world, with a fortune estimated at $79.6. After he owned many shares in América Móvil, he sold them to make a lot of money and invest it in Tracfone Wireless, the fifth larger carrier in the US who gives prepaid plans through leased capacities in large carrier networks such as AT&T and Sprint.

Slim was in América Móvil for a while and the company has become quite successful in Mexico (See stats below) but now it seems Slim wants to move up a notch. One thing is for sue, money isn't an issue for this man.

However, no matter how good intentions he has, the deal between Sprint and T-Mobile might be in its very final stages, and he might have hopped on the bandwagon a tad late. We'll see how that progresses.
