HTC One M8 was released on March to mixed reactions- While most praised its compact size, there was an issue with the so-called "Black bar of doom" at the bottom of the device (which eventually proved to be in-significant), but mainly at the 4 MP 'Ultra Pixel' camera, which many expected to feature a little bit more pixels.
Now, it seems HTC has listened to many of the complains, and the result is the HTC J Butterfly. While this is a Japan-exclusive (J=Japan), it is still a worth-noting improvement over the original M8, so let's take a look at what has changed.
First of all, the phone is made of plastic and not aluminium, which makes room for the next feature in the form of a waterproof device. A big improvement is the introduction of the 13 MP back camera, and 5 MP front-shooter, which is in accordance with the recent HTC One Mini 2's setup, and is probably better-suited than the 4 MP 'UltraPixel'.
While this looks like a great device, it will be Japan exclusive so don't expect it to head anywhere else. It will feature the rest of the M8's specs (2 GB RAM, SD 801, KitKat 4.4.2, Dot View support). The original announcement was made by japanese carrier KDDI, so click below for the full details.
