As you might recall, a few days
ago @evleaks treated us to our first look at the new gaming tablet by NVIDIA,
allegedly to be called the NVIDIA SHIELD, and now it seems we’ll know
everything there is to know about this new device.
As you can see, the specs will
feature a 1920 =x1080, 8’ device running a Tegra K1 with its 192-core GPU clocked
at 2.2 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB storage options, both camera will be 5 MP and
you get the option of an LTE version. The device will also feature
dual-speakers.
More features of the device
include DirectStylus. DirectStylus has been announced by NVIDIA on June, and
can write on the screen with detail thanks to its 1.5 mm tip, and in addition
the other side of the Stylus serves as an eraser. The tablet doesn't get
confused between the sides thanks to some tweaks by NVIDIA. For more info about DirectStylus, click here.
The full NVIDIA SHIELD Family
also includes a dedicated cover, and a Wi-Fi Direct connected controller, which
is identical to regular controllers with triggers, a full d-pad, joysticks, a
numbers pad, and a headphone jack.
Here are the rest of the leaked
slides:
According to this leak, the
device will launch in the US & Canada on July 29th, Europe on
August 14th, and the rest of the world in the fall of 2014. The 16 GB
variant will run you $299, while the 32 GB version will cost $399. The
controller will cost $59, and you’ll shell out $39 for the SHIELD Cover.
