So, while the setup process doesn't reveal a lot when you don't possess the actual device, it revealed some features which are not too important but do play a role in user experience;
First of all, since the wearable itself isn't see-through, we now have a confirmation that the device's camera will be used to provide a visual of your surroundings, done when you long-click the 'back' button. Also, the device will make a sound when you dock and un-dock it.
There are VR Panorama and VR Cinema apps that were revealed, but weren't much of a use since the actual device wasn't in possession. In addition you can set screen timeout time, and some more advanced-settings. You can also launch applications using S Voice, simply by saying "Hi Galaxy" and then issuing a command.
Samsung Gear VR will make its appearance at IFA 2014, only a month away, so not too long a wait before we all get our eyes and hands on it. For more information, be sure to visit our source, SamMobile.
