Samsung says Galaxy Tab S doesn't overheat, has defective back cover

Recently there were reports concerning the Galaxy Tab S 8.4's back cover, claiming that the tablet was overheating so seriously that the back cover was actually misshaping. There are two sides to the problem, adn now Samsung officially replied to the issue.

According to Samsung, the device which was displayed did not in fact overheat to the point of dis-figuration, but simply had a defective back, resulting in the over-heating and warping that the Russian user who originally reported, experienced.

While similiar reports have sprouted all over the internet, Samsung claims this is a known problem in a limited number of tablets, and it encourages the customers who own a defective model to come to a Samsung care center and get the defect replaced. Sasmsung didn't clarify whether that means getting a new tablet or a new back cover, but it might be a relief to know the Samsung isn't in the Exynos SoC, which might have been a lot more serious for Samsung.
