While the
Samsung Z, which will be the company’s first phone to feature their home-made
operating system Tizen, has already been announced back in June, we didn’t get too much information concerning the actual phone, only a mere confirmation of
existence by Samsung, and a picture of the phone's front.
Now, with this
new batch of pictures, it looks like there isn’t anything left to learn about
the phone. Except for a release date maybe. Talk more about that here.
In the
picture, you can clearly see the Golden variant of the Samsung *Not Galaxy* Z.
As far as gimmicks go, it seems it’ll be a brother to the Galaxy S5, sporting
the same heart-rate monitor on the back. It also seems to feature a more-premium design, despite it being directed at the mid-range market.
Spec-wise, the
phone is rumored to have a 4.8’, 1280x720 display, housing a quad-core, 2.3GHz
processor (don’t take our word for it) paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB storage
with microSD support. It will feature an 8MP camera.
The phone was
already supposed to be released, but due to a lack of apps for Tizen, Samsung
delayed the launch until the OS will be ready and full of apps. The picture you
see above is from the Tizen Developer Summit in Russia, and the phone is
rumored to be released in Russia sometime in the next couple of months.
Note: It doesn't seem this is a leak, more like someone who merely took a picture of it when it was available for use. So, it seems Samsung didn't care much for secrecy about this phone.
