Unlocked HTC One M8, Developer Edition M7 to receive Android 4.4.3 next week

Lately, HTC is known for providing updates quickly and efficiently, and because of that we all expected for 4.4.3 to be ported to the One M8 soon enough, and now we get an official confirmation about that.

In a tweet by HTC’s VP of Management, Mo Versi, he confirmed the M8 will be receiving the almost-latest update next week. Also, the M8 will not be treated to 4.4.4 but will jump straight to the next Android L version, a step which should happen 90 days after the official release.

While 4.4.3 isn’t too major, it’s still good to get the bug-fixes, and generally an update is always a reason to cheer. While it’s not 4.4.4, it will get all the primary features of 4.4.4, and while it’s unclear why HTC did not just call it 4.4.4, just pretend it is.

Also, the Developer Edition of the M7 is already receiving 4.4.3. The carrier version of the M8 will be treated to 4.4.3 in a few weeks, save for the lucky Sprint users which already received it.
