MediaTek announces octa-core, 64-bit, 2k supportive processor

In the last few years, Qualcomm has gotten true domination over the high-end processor market, with a 97% share of the 4G LTE. Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean MediaTek doesn’t return fight, and even a very good fight at that.

The new processor, named the MediaTek MT6795, is the newest addition to their MT67xx series, and offers top of the line specs- It is “true” octa-core, which means that all the cores have the same power, and are all active at the same time, and it is 64-bit. Furthermore, the processor supports a mind-blowing 480fps and 1080p video- quadrupling the current high-standard of 120fps, which also isn’t available on all phones. The processor runs at 2.2GHz, and features “CorePilot” technology which makes sure the load is equally distributed among the 8 processors.
