The BlackBerry Z3 was released in India about two weeks ago,
hoping to turn the company’s situation around. And the current situation, as
you might know, is very bad. BlackBerry, once the leader of smartphones, has
been taken over by Android and iOS, and is having a tough time stopping its
decent in smartphone sales.
The Z3 will try to
change that, and so far it’s doing a
pretty good job. Actually, according to a report from Economic Times, the Z3
has already sold out in India, only two weeks after its launch.
Now, before you get hysterical, remember that sold out can
have a lot of meaning- in this case 30,000 devices. Nonetheless that’s a good
start by BB, and might help them getting back on track.
The Canadian company was at its dying stages, but now it
seems the Z3 might revive it. The Z3 features a 5’ qHD (540x960) display,
paired with a Snapdragon 400. 5 MP back, 1.1MP front, 1.5 GB of RAM, 8 GB of
internal storage and microSD support. The phone is on sale for 15,000 - 16,000 INR in India, which
translates to around 260$.
